Hey cats and kittens, it’s another sale–today ONLY–from our friends at Banana Republic–40% off online all regularly priced jewelry with code BRJEWELRY.  And they have a TON of new stuff…most of which I sort of feel like I can’t live without.  This job is going to put me in Chapter 11.   Bah.

Circle Chain Necklace – $27
 ($45)

I read a lot of style blogs.  My favorites are the lookbooks–where people simply show what they are wearing, or photograph the outfits of others.  One of the best out there is Atlantic-Pacific.  From what I can tell, the author is a buyer in New York City, so she’s always fashion forward, but with a lot of classic elements (elegant jackets, Chanel jewelry, nude pumps, etc.) incorporated as well.  She has been wearing chain link bracelets, layered with bangles, like crazy over the past couple months, so I was thrilled to see BR has a chain link necklace, available in both silver and gold tones.

Faceted Stone Necklace – $27 ($45)

I’m also a fashion documentary junkie (aren’t you learning so many valuable things about me today?); one of my favorites is The September Issue, about the making of Vogue magazine.  Through the whole movie, Anna Wintour wears several faceted crystal necklaces in turquoise, amber, and purple tones.  I saw that movie four years ago and since then I’ve been desperately searching for a decent replica of them (the originals are apparently from a London jeweler and cost many thousands of dollars).  Thus far I’ve bought two versions, both of them ultimately disappointing.  But these look like a much better imitation.  Beautiful colors, nicely cut, set to (hopefully) lay flat against the skin.  Also available in clear and smokey quartz.

Tortoise Cuff – $23.70
and Tortoise Link Bracelet – $23.70 (both $39.50)

BR takes tortoise shell and executes it in two different styles to suit different tastes.  At left, a thick tortoise cuff with gold tone hardware.  I can see this cuff with a great pair of jeans, blazer, and pumps.  At right, much more subtle, are tortoise shell links, also with gold tone hardware.  This bracelet would work great with a brown-toned suit, for a conservative, but stylish bit of shine.

Leather Grommet Bangle – $23.70
 ($39.50)

Every time I see the word “grommet” I hear Wallace’s voice from Wallace and Gromit.  Anyone else?  No?  The cheese stands alone.  This bangle comes in three different colors, stone and brown (shown), and orange.  The stone has almost a futuristic look to it, while the brown and orange versions are warm and earthy.

Indigo Hoop Earring – $23.70
 ($39.50)

These beautiful blue-purple earrings are such a nice departure from regular ol’ hoops.  These gems can be worn day or night, weekday or weekend, and will complement any hairstyle or face shape.  It’s great to have a couple of really reliable, easy earrings that you can throw on when you’re walking out the door, and you don’t have to agonize over whether it matches, whether it’s appropriate, and so on.

Faceted Stone Stud Earring – $21
 ($35)

A little glitzier are these crystal earrings in a variety of neutral earth tones.  These would be lovely to add a little sparkle to a daytime ensemble, and appropriate enough for the office if that’s a consideration for you.  Or wear in the evening with your hair up to show them off.

Sale ends today at 11:59 pm ET!  Available only online with code BRJEWELRY!
